Sunrise Sunday (2000)

I was in Capetown, South Africa when John Elway finally won his first superbowl.

That was probably the single greatest football game I ever saw. (And that's saying something, coming from a 49ers fan.)

In South Africa, the live feed from the superbowl starts at 1:00 AM.

I was in a sports bar in downtown Capetown, filled to the brim with football fans from America,

and the locals were doing their best to figure out the rules of NFL football. (They inexplicably prefer Cricket and Soccer.)

Anyway, Elway finally got his ring, and once I got back to where I was staying, i noticed the sunrise, and decided to do some self-portraiture.

Like many artists, I generally hate photographs of myself, so this is a good compromise for me.
