career opportunities 2003

I completed this piece in may 2003, after a solid year of design and fabrication. It is currently installed at SJSU.

It stands about twelve feet tall, and there are four characters involved in the narrative.

First, there is the man that has been sublimated by the machine, who controls the descending chain.

Second from the top, there is the proletariate working-man-stereotype, bound and shackled by his labor.

Finally, there is the helpless housewife-Madonna stereotype, nursing her infant child.

I hate to show pictures of this piece, because photos just don't convey the scale and menace of the work.

Hopefully, I will be able to bring it back from SJSU and install it in our sculpture garden.
